Anne Hunter- Bio and Classes

Anne Hunter is the owner of The Creative Touch, a Decorative Arts Studio, where she teaches decorative painting classes and
Anne has been teaching decorative painting since 1987 in her studio and throughout the United States.  Anne teaches at the
national conference of The Society of Decorative Painters and various chapter meetings in the US.  She has also taught at the
Fletcher Farm School for the Arts & Crafts in Ludlow Vermont,

Anne has designed and marketed over 75 pattern packets, authored ten Decorative painting books, developed two web based
lessons and is published in leading international magazines.

Anne is an active member of the National Society of Decorative Painters and the Decorative Arts Business Alliance (DABA)

Fall Classes
Introduction to Acrylic Painting
6 weeks  Wednesday evening September 10, 17, 24, October 15, 22, 29 6:30 – 8:30 pm $140

A structured approach to painting with acrylics is taught in this introductory class.  It is designed for the person
who has no painting experience.  Learn about paints, what colors   to mix; which brushes to use for the best
results; and surface preparation.  See step by step demonstrations of the techniques of working with acrylic paints,
from start to finish.   See how to get different effects with different brushes, color mixing and the development of
popular subjects. Use this knowledge to create landscapes and still life paintings in class.  Take away many
inspiring ideas to help develop your own paintings.

Brushes recommended: 0 liner; 4, 6, round; 10, ½”, 1” flat; ¾” filbert
Paint set with at least 10 basic colors

Acrylic Painting, an Open Concept
6 weeks Thursday evenings September 4, 18, 25, October 16, 23, 30, 6:30 – 8:30 pm  $140
drop in fee - $30

Do you want to work independently on your paintings but would like help to build your skills and knowledge?  This
class is for you.   Choose an image that you would like to paint, from your own library or one from ours. Or bring a
work in progress.  Get the help you need through step by step demonstrations from the approach to crating
different effects with brushes; mixing colors to get the right tone and hue.  Each person will get one-on-one
evaluations and suggestions of color, balance and composition as needed.
