Nancy Opp- Bio and Classes
About Nancy Opp:
Visit Nancy’s website at www.ElecticaNancy.com
or email her at OppFamily@aol.com

Nancy Opp grew up in metropolitan New York and was exposed to the Arts from an early age. She was attracted to
color and pattern with an interest in fashion design.
Nancy has a BS in Fashion Design from the University of Cincinnati.

She and Greg Opp married a year after graduation and settled in Hudson, MA. They have raised 3 boys who are
now in their twenties. Nancy desired to return to her art interests while her children were growing up. She took
courses at the Danforth Museum of Art, Worcester Art Museum and studied in small groups. Nancy earned a Basic
Art Certificate from the Danforth Museum School in Framingham, MA. This inspired her to study studio art and art
history at Framingham State (College) University where she successfully completed nine courses. Also, Nancy took
a graduate level class on the Arts of India at Clark University in Worcester, MA.

Nancy’s teaching experience began with a few students in her home. Later, she taught art in several after school
programs in Hudson and Sudbury. Also, Nancy has taught children at the Worcester Art Museum and Danforth
Museum of Art.  She was employed by the Arts Alliance and held several positions with the organization including
art instructor at drama workshops and Arts AfterSchool, arts coordinator and visual art director. Nancy was
employed at St, Michaels School in Hudson, MA. She taught 7th & 8th grade art for 2 years until the school was
closed.

Nancy’s pastels, watercolor and mixed media collage work were in juried and non-juried exhibits. She moved on to
making art quilts with a renewed interest in fabric including batiks. Her interest in fashion sewing resumed. She
began to combine her art knowledge with sewing and fashion which led her into a new direction.

Eclectica Designs is the name of Nancy’s sewing business. She joined blueskies studios to be a part of an artist
community.  Nancy specializes in sewing with kimono silks to create scarves, wraps and decorative items. Also,
she makes embellished sweatshirt jackets. All of her designs are custom and unique. Nancy collaborates with
customers to create their own vision.
She offers individual classes in sewing, drawing and fashion drawing to ages 12 and up.
