Born in Brooklyn, New York, Jodie currently resides in Natick, MA where she focuses her time on establishing and supporting fundraising events through her art and writing. Her degrees in biology and environmental science filled her with an enduring interest in nature.
Jodie cannot be pinned down by any one medium. She never fails to explore new ways to express her many passions. Oil, acrylic, watercolor, printmaking and mixed media are all fair game. She is best known for her illustrative style of bold color and texture that capture a joyful glimpse of nature. Her favorite and most compelling project was Pippi and Hansfor the Floating Hospital for Children in Boston, collaged with many of her favorite picture books.
Exhibited throughout New England, Jodie’s paintings have won many awards and are held in private and corporate collections throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, India, Russia and Australia. Jodie’s corporate collectors include Children’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Floating Hospital for Children, TJX Corporation, Michaels and others.
When Jodie is not painting, walking her dog or working in her garden, she is working on her picture books (Hide, The Tale of Vinnie the Bower Bird and Counting Collectionsto name a few). Besides being an active member of SCBWI, she also belongs to the Writers' Loft in Sherborn, MA.
